Cleopatra (69-30 B.C) was the last of the Ptolemiens, she was the seventh Macedonian princess of that name. She seduced Julius Caesar in the hope of regaining her throne, then she married Mark Antony with who she wanted to divided the kingdom of the east which seems to have been promised to her in a prophecy “at one time she entertained the hope of finally recovering her fortunes lost at Actium by taking her conqueror captive. But she coldness of Octavius who was more interested in Cleopatra’s possessions than her personal charms made her realize quickly the foolishness of her hope. She killed herself with a snake and by suicide escaped the humiliation of roman triumph
